Artist and bookbinder Ruth McCann will run a one-day workshop at Queen’s Hall Arts Centre for anyone aged 16 and over. No experience necessary.
Participants will learn how to make a book with a hard back cover and case using multi-section binding with a choice of colours, papers and book cloths.
At the end of the day you will have made a beautiful blank book to take home which can be used as a note book or sketch pad for yourself… or to give as a chocolate-free alternative Easter gift!
The workshop charge of £35 covers all materials, equipment and tuition.
Please note: Lunch not provided but can be bought from the Little Angel Café at Queen’s Hall or feel free to bring a packed lunch.

Ruth McCann is a bookbinder and artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Educated at the University of the Arts, London, Ruth's book art can be found in various collections including Tate Modern. As well as running her own bookbinding studio Ruth also teaches bookbinding with the Adult Learning Alliance in North Tyneside.
