I'm 20 years old and currently in my second year at Northumbria University studying animation. After studying fine art throughout school, i realised animation is what i really wanted to do in the future. I have always had a curiosity for animation and have been loving my degree so far. It's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share my work and i hope the viewers enjoy it as much as i did making it.

Ouseburn 1874
My piece is a moving animatic exploring the industrial revolution in Ouseburn, Newcastle. Ouseburn was an important area of Newcastle for the production of goods in the 1800s due to its location by the River Tyne. The video is made up hand drawn illustrations which i then went in and animated, frame by frame. As part of the project, i walked around Ouseburn, recording foley sounds which you can hear in the background. The animation is in a documentary style, so i wrote and recorded the voice over to help depicted Ouseburn in this period. I researched into images from the time for inspiration. My aim for this piece was to transport the viewer back in time and show them what life was like for people in industrial Ouseburn.
