Programming Policy

Our programming policy is guided by Our Mission

We programme work for three seasons; Spring (January – April), Summer (May – August) and Autumn (September – December).

What do you programme?

Our programme covers a range of art forms including Theatre, Dance, Music, Family and Comedy.

Productions are programmed well in advance, usually one year ahead and with at least a six month lead time.

Local amateur productions and events are usually hires, where our performance spaces are hired at a community rate. We do not usually hire our venue for touring or commercial productions and performances. To find out more about hiring our spaces, click here.

All performances are programmed by our Artistic Director, supported by the staff team. Most of our programme is based on working relationships with regional and national companies and artists. We work to have a balanced programme for our community, and we like to have a working relationship with touring companies. We particularly focus on work that is relevant to our communities or inspired by regional stories.

Do you sell merchandise on behalf of visiting companies?

Merchandise (including programmes) can be sold independently or with support from the Queen’s Hall team. This should be made clear within the booking/contract process. If Queen’s Hall staff are required to sell on behalf of a third party, please note that any proceeds will subject to a 10% commission rate (plus VAT).

What do you need from me?

We ask that all visiting companies and artists provide marketing assets in line with our visiting company and artist guidelines.

If you've never presented work at Queen’s Hall, then we would need you to send through a tour pack including good quality images and video as well a tech spec, company background, tour window and fee/split information.

How do I get in contact about programming?
