Hadrian's Wall Archaeology Forum | No. 14

To restore the HWAF to its traditional autumn timeslot it has been decided to hold a second event in 2024.

The programme for this event will include talks on recent excavations at Birdoswald, Vindolanda, Milecastle 46 near Carvoran, and the Carlisle bathhouse as well as one exploring the way geology shaped the design and construction of the Wall and the Vallum and supplied the natural resources exploited by the Roman Army.

The Queen's Hall Box Office will open at 9.15am on Saturday 2 November.

Optional Lunch
A soup, sandwich, and cake buffet lunch, with tea/coffee, will be available at Hexham Abbey for an additional £10 (Max. 35 places). Tickets for this can be booked in booking pages or via Box Office.

The new edition of the Hadrian’s Wall Archaeology Magazine (No. 13) will be on sale at the event along with a selection of other publications (cash or cheque only).
