About

Work For Us

We are a close team, passionate about theatre, arts and delivering a fantastic programme for the Hexham community and beyond.

A great place to work

We are very proud to have recently been awarded the Advanced Good Work Pledge by North of Tyne Combined Authority recognising our commitment to the 5 pillars of the pledge including focus on health, wellbeing, communication and social responsibility.

We employ a small team of permanent staff on either a full time or part time basis. We also work with lots of freelances, artists, volunteer stewards and are supported by our board of trustees

Join our team

All of our vacancies are advertised on our website, social media channels and via our e-newsletter as well as on Arts Jobs.

Queen’s Hall is an Equal Opportunities employer and actively seeks to employ and offer opportunities to people currently under-represented in the creative and cultural sector and our team. This includes young people, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities. We offer a flexible and supportive working environment.

Volunteering

Queen’s Hall is a charity and is supported by a brilliant team of volunteers who help our organisation in many different ways.

Volunteering at Queen's Hall is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills – no specialist knowledge of theatre or the Arts is required!

Stewarding

Throughout the year, our dedicated team of volunteers act as the public face of Queen's Hall, welcoming our visitors to our beautiful venue for performances and events and ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Our Stewards also help to sell merchandise, ice creams and confectionary during intervals. They also get to see the shows for free themselves!

We offer full training and our Stewards are also invited to opening nights and social events throughout the year.

If you’re interested in joining our team of Stewards, please click the link below to fill in the form and we will be in touch when we’re next recruiting.

Other volunteering opportunities...

There are many other ways you can volunteer for Queen’s Hall and we are always open to have a conversation about how you can help.

This could include anything from distributing leaflets in your local community to helping us decorate!
