General Access

What should I expect when I arrive at Queen's Hall?

Our main entrance is at street level on Beaumont Street and is fully wheelchair accessible with automatic doors.

There are three disabled parking bays in the spaces outside Queen’s Hall as well as outside Hexham Abbey and in the nearby Market Square.

On the ground floor, our Foyer, Box Office, Café Bar, Gallery space, toilets and Hexham Library are all fully wheelchair accessible.

How do I access other floors at Queen's Hall?

Our Foyer lift enables visitors access to all public areas of our building including our Main Theatre (apart from the balcony), White Room and Gallery 2.

Our Studio Theatre is accessed via a small flight of stairs which transform into a platform lift.

Are Guide Dogs welcome?

We welcome Guide Dogs in all areas of the building and can provide a bowl of water on request.

Before You Visit

If you’re planning a visit to Queen’s Hall and would find it useful to familiarise yourself with the venue before your arrival, you can watch the walkthrough video (recorded at wheelchair height).

We are also happy to offer pre-arranged visits for anyone who would like to familiarise themselves with any of our spaces in advance of a production or event. Please get in touch with our Box Office to arrange.

Copies of our season brochures are available in large print and high contrast upon request. Soon, an Audio Brochure for each season will be available on our Soundcloud.

Tell us how we can help

We are proud to say that we are a WelcoMe venue!

What does this mean?

When you are booking tickets either online or face to face, there will be an option to let us know if you have access requirements.

If you have said that you do have access requirements, you will receive an email from WelcoMe asking you to set up a profile with them (if you haven't already got one).

Our Front of House staff will then know what your requirements are in advance of the production and how we might be able to support your visit.

More information about the WelcoMe initiative can be found here
