About Kat Auld
Kat is a Swedish artist who studied Fine Art at Cumbria Institute of the Arts in the 2000's. She is now based in Hexham with work previously being exhibited both Sweden and UK. Kat currently enjoys delivering workshops, engaging with various community projects in Tynedale and has a genuine interest in other people’s practice. Her own art is based on thorough research into objects, techniques and material and how they can be transformed in a space.
“In my work, the act of drawing equals the act of experimenting, exploring and inventing. The exhibited pieces are sometimes end products, but more than often a pause in the ongoing drawing process. I often use photography in my practice and enjoy this still version of my ongoing experiments.”
Inspirational artists include: Julie Livsey, Jan Goodey and Helen Edling.
Other interests: tabletop sales, coffee, gardening & people’s stories.
