"Painting is another form of thinking." Gerhard Richter
The aim of these sessions with students is to nurture self-confidence and passion for painting in a stimulating environment with plenty of guidance giving emphasis on exploring technique with a maximum of six participants.
Discussing painting is pointless. Rather, we see the artist at work and that’s all that matters. The evidence isn’t in the verbal rationale. The proof is found in the colour and form on the canvas, becoming a unique idea of emotion all its own.
In this current exhibition, art practitioners (Enrique's students) aim to deepen their observation and technique, highlighting the relationship between the subject matter and the tonalities and colours that contribute to the materiality and final impact of their artworks.
Navigating the porous boundary between abstraction and figuration, technique becomes a vital tool for conveying the authentic emotions within a painting.
