Steamworks: CSI

- Main Information
Do you like solving problems?
Could you find all the evidence?
Can you find out who stole the priceless painting?
This school holiday, Steamworks invites all 8 – 12 year old budding investigators to make their way to Queen’s Hall for a CSI workshop.
Join our Crime Scene Investigators as we try to work out what’s happened to a missing painting from the Queen’s Hall Gallery. We’ll take fingerprints, collect fibres, investigate footprints and examine alibis, all as part of a jam-packed day learning how science and technology can help the police solve crimes.
This interactive day of science fun is designed to inspire curiosity about how science works in the world, whilst developing key transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving while most importantly having fun!
We’ll start by visiting and documenting the crime scene, then by learning about all the different types of evidence that we can collect. The children will gather and use evidence over the course of the day to draw conclusions and answer the big question… whodunnit?!
At the end of the day, join your child as the group of newly qualified Crime Scene Investigators present their findings.
Please note: Children should bring a packed lunch. The workshop runs 10am – 3pm and sharing afterwards will be at 3 - 3.30pm.
