Windowful
- Main Information
Help Hexham shine bright!
After artist Cath Campbell’s giant beanstalk took over the windows of Queen’s Hall in December, we’re inviting people who live or work in Hexham to decorate their own windows to create a magical walking trail across town on Friday 28 February & Saturday 1 March.
Share your story…
Have fun coming up with an idea for your own window. The theme for the first year of Windowful invites you to “Share your story”.
Your design can be as simple or detailed as you like.
Black paper and coloured tissue work best to create designs that can be displayed in windows and lit using lights from inside the home.

Once you’ve finished your creation, make sure you pick a spot people passing by will be able to see.
Light your design between 6 - 9pm on Friday 28 February & Saturday 1 March for passersby to admire.
Don’t forget to invite your neighbours, family and friends to take part too - and help us light-up the dark winter nights.
Need some materials?
Making the most of old tissue paper from gifts and shopping is a great idea. Even the smallest of scraps might come in handy!
If you need some black paper and/or tissue paper to start your design, you can collect a pack of donated materials from our Box Office (open Monday - Saturday, 10am - 12pm & 1 - 4pm).
Enjoy the displays!
Once the hard work is done, make sure you make time to go window wandering yourself!
Share your finds on social media using #WindowfulHexham to let other people know where to find displays.
We can’t wait to see what you create!
Windowful is presented by Queen’s Hall Arts with the support of the North East Combined Authority.
