These gentle, hands-on clay workshops are part of the Abundance series — a programme of workshops and performances exploring rest, care and connection. Led by artist Megan Randall, with support from choreographer Lizzie Klotz, participants will work with clay using simple, accessible techniques such as coiling, shaping, pressing and building, noticing how making with our hands can shift our sense of time, pace and presence.

Over the two sessions, participants will create a number ofpieces. These will be exhibited, presented or used during the Community Feast on Saturday 18 April, after which participants are welcome to take their work home.

No experience is needed and all materials are provided. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace, experiment freely, and enjoy the calm, communal atmosphere of the workshop.

Please note: This is a two-part workshop. Participants must attend both sessions — the first focuses on making with clay, and the second on glazing and finishing their work.

Lizzie Klotz is a dance artist, choreographer and facilitator based in the North East of England. Her work spans theatres, galleries, outdoor spaces and film, often involving both professional and non-professional performers. Rooted in care, joy and connection, her practice is shaped by collaboration and underpinned by inclusive, access-led processes that create welcoming, meaningful experiences for participants and audiences alike.

Megan Randall is a ceramic artist whose practice centresmateriality, process and the ways in which making can bring people together. She works across community, education and gallery contexts, creating playful, accessible spaces for people to explore clay through touch, experimentation and conversation.
