Partial Solar Eclipse at Queen's Hall (Sele Park)
FREE
- Main Information
As part of a series of events celebrating this summer's Discovering Dark Skies exhibition, join us for a special event in Sele Park.
If the skies are clear, you will be able to view a partial eclipse when around 90% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon (weather permitting).
Northumberland National Park Authority will set up its specialist 80mm Lunt solar scope, which will allow you to look at the solar eclipse live, and safely.
This is a free drop-in event, please book a ticket to help us manage numbers.
Please note: We cannot guarantee a cloud-free experience, sadly, but it should be quite a spectacle. It's important to note that you should never look directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse when some of its intense light is blocked. Doing so can severely damage your eyes.
