Hello – welcome back to our Jazz Newsletter, bringing you the latest gigs, exclusive offers, and plenty of jazz chat!
October’s offering featured the fantastic Adrian Cox Trio as part of their international tour. What a fabulous performance they put on for a lovely responsive crowd, filled with joy and enthusiasm from musicians and audience alike. New Orleans jazz performed with the utmost virtuosity, the trio interacting with almost telepathic communication. They have assured us they will be back!
A week on Sunday (16 November), we welcome a guitar pairing of the highest calibre. UK guitarist Nigel Price - described by All About Jazz as “the most dynamic and gifted guitarist on the British jazz scene today” - is back on a mammoth 40-date tour.
For this leg, he’s joined by internationally renowned guitarist Lorne Lofsky, who has toured and recorded with jazz greats including Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, and Chet Baker. Together with their rhythm section, this exceptional duo will bring world-class jazz to our stage.
Looking ahead to later in the month (30 November), we welcome international collaboration Happenstance, with roots in Spain, France, the Czech Republic, and the UK. Sharing a love of Wayne Shorter and The Beatles, this group brings a fresh approach to well-known classics alongside their own original compositions.
Be sure to take advantage of our Exclusive Sunday Jazz Drink Offer: buy three drinks and get a fourth free! The White Room Bar opens an hour before each Sunday Jazz session and during the interval, offering the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere.
Look out for our next newsletter, I leave you with a reminder from Wayne Shorter. “Jazz is a fighter. The word jazz means to me, I dare you. Lets jump into the unknown!”
